He was a furniture repairman from 1978-2009 with his family business, Matt Alfonso Furniture Repair in Garfield, and then worked as a department manager for Home Depot in Passaic for 10 years retiring in 2015. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Garfield.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Alfonso and Matthew W. Alfonso, III; grandson, William Matthew; and brother, Anthony Alfonso and wife Eveline.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ida and Matthew W. Alfonso Sr.
